DAC approves procurement of radars, air cushion vehicles

The Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) approved procurement of high powered radars for the Indian Air Force and air cushion vehicles for the Army and the Coast Guard together worth over Rs. 5,500 crore.

रक्षा अधिग्रहण परिषद (डीएसी) ने भारतीय वायु सेना के लिए उच्च शक्ति वाले रडारों  और सेना और तट रक्षक के लिए वायु कुशन वाहनों को खरीदने के लिए मंजूरी दी जिसकी कीमत 5,500 करोड़ रुपये से अधिक मूल्य है।

The 12 high power radars will be procured indigenously under the ‘Buy (Indian) IDDM’ category.

 12 उच्च शक्ति वाले रडार स्वदेश से ही IDDM खरीद के तहत खरीदे जाएंगे।

The radars will provide long range medium and high altitude radar cover with the capability to detect and track high speed targets following parabolic trajectories.

रडार लंबी दूरी व मध्यम और उच्च ऊंचाई के रडार कवर प्रदान करेंगे, जिसमें परवलयिक ट्रैजेक्टोरियों के उच्च गति लक्ष्य का पता लगाने और ट्रैक करने की क्षमता होगी

Technologically superior, the radars will have the capability to scan 360 degrees without mechanical rotation of Antenna and will operate on 24×7 basis with minimal maintenance requirement.

तकनीकी रूप से बेहतर, रडार में एंटीना के यांत्रिक रोटेशन के बिना 360 डिग्री स्कैन करने की क्षमता होगी और न्यूनतम रखरखाव आवश्यकता के साथ 24 × 7 आधार पर काम करेगा।

In the other deal, air cushion vehicles (ACVs) to be procured from an Indian shipyard.

This will enable travel at very high speeds over shallow water, sand banks, mud flats and swamps which are non-navigable by boats and small crafts due to draught restrictions or uncharted depths

दूसरे सौदे में, एक भारतीय शिपयार्ड से एयर कुशन वाहन (एसीवी) की खरीद की जाएगी।

यह उथले पानी, रेत बैंकों, मिट्टी के फ्लैटों और दलदलों पर बहुत अधिक गति से यात्रा को सक्षम करेगा जहां  सूखे  या अनचाहे गहराई के कारण नौकाओं और छोटे शिल्पों द्वारा जाना मुमकिन नही  हैं।

What is this Defense Acquisition Council (DAC)?? 

It was set up on August 29, 2001

इसकी स्थापना 29 अगस्त 2001 को हुई थी।

This was done to counter corruption and speed up decision-making in military procurements

सेना समान खरीद करने के निर्णय जल्दी से करने और भ्रष्ठाचार रोकने के लिए इसकी स्थापना हुई थी।

Head of the Council is Defence Minister 

कौंसिल के हेड रक्षा मंत्री होते है

It Will give policy guidelines to acquisitions, based on long-term procurement plans

यह लंबी अवधि की खरीद योजनाओं के आधार पर अधिग्रहण के लिए नीति दिशानिर्देश देता है 

It will also clear all acquisitions, including imported equipment and those produced indigenously or under a foreign license

सभी अधिग्रहणों के कार्यों को पूरा करेगा जैसे आयातित उपकरण और इसके अलावा जो  स्वदेशी या विदेशी लाइसेंस के तहत उत्पादित मशीन

Defence Procurement Board will deal with purchases

रक्षा खरीद बोर्ड सभी  खरीद को देखेगा

Defence Production Board which will supervise procurement from indigenous sources, such as ordnance factories and equipment manufactured under a foreign license

रक्षा उत्पादन बोर्ड स्वदेशी स्त्रोतो जैसे ऑर्डिनस फैक्ट्री  से निर्मित खरीद की निगरानी करेगा व विदेशी लाइसेंस के तहत बनाये उपकरण की खरीद को देखेगा।
