Dhanush artillery gun clears final test, ready for induction

• India’s first indigenous, long-range artillery gun “Dhanush” has passed its final test at Pokhran
• भारत की पहली स्वदेशी, लंबी दूरी की तोपखाने की बंदूक "धनुष" ने पोखरण में अपना अंतिम परीक्षण पूरा कर लिया हैं
• It is now ready for its induction into the Army
• अब यह सेना में शामिल होने के लिए तैयार है

About Dhanush

• Dhanush is a 155mm x 45mm calibre artillery gun and is also called the “desi Bofors”
• धनुष एक 155 मिमी x 45 मिमी कैलिबर तोपखाने की बंदूक है और इसे "देसी बोफोर्स" भी कहा जाता है
• It has a strike range of 38 kilometres and 81 percent of its components are indigenously sourced
• इसकी 38 किलोमीटर की स्ट्राइक रेंज है और इसके 81 प्रतिशत घटक स्वदेशी रूप से सोर्स हैं
• It has features like electronic gun-laying and sighting systems
• इसमें इलेक्ट्रॉनिक बंदूक-बिछाने और दृष्टि प्रणाली जैसी विशेषताएं हैं
• The gun has passed tests under severe cold conditions in Sikkim and Leh and in hot and humid weather in Balasore, Odisha, Babina in Jhansi and in the desert of Pokhran in Rajasthan
• बंदूक ने सिक्किम और लेह में गंभीर ठंड की स्थिति के तहत, ओडिशा, बालासोरे,  झांसी के बबीना में गर्म और आर्द्र मौसम के तहत , और राजस्थान में पोखरण के रेगिस्तान में परीक्षण किया है  
• The gun has been developed by the Ordnance Factory Board (OFB), Kolkata
• बंदूक को ऑर्डनेंस फैक्ट्री बोर्ड (ओएफबी), कोलकाता द्वारा विकसित किया गया है
• It is manufactured by the Jabalpur-based Gun Carriage Factory (GCF)
• इसे जबलपुर स्थित गन कैरिज फैक्ट्री (जीसीएफ) द्वारा निर्मित किया जाता है
