IRCTC launched its trial run of environment friendly bagasse based food packaging on 8 select Shatabdis and Rajdhanis originating from New Delhi. Passengers in these trains will be served meals on eco-friendly disposable plates (compostable containers) instead of the polymer ones as part of the Railways’ drive to go green.
आईआरसीटीसी ने 8 चुनिंदा नई दिल्ली से चलने वाली शताब्दी और राजधानियों पर से पर्यावरण अनुकूल बैगेज आधारित खाद्य पैकेजिंग का खाना शुरू करेगी । इन ट्रेनों में यात्रियों को पॉलिमर के बजाय इको-फ्रेंडली डिस्पोजेबल प्लेट्स (कंपोस्टेबल कंटेनर) पर भोजन परोसा जाएगा।

इस नई पहल के साथ आईआरसीटीसी ने क्लीनर और ग्रीनर इंडिया के प्रति अपनी वचनबद्धता की पुष्टि की है और इसे प्राप्त करने के लिए इस दिशा में एक छोटा कदम उठाया है
Provision will be made to collect the used packaging which will then be processed for disposal through composting to ensure environmental sustainability.
प्रयुक्त पैकेजिंग को इकट्ठा करने के लिए प्रावधान किया जाएगा जिसे पर्यावरण स्थिरता सुनिश्चित करने के लिए कंपोस्टिंग के माध्यम से निपटान के लिए संसाधित किया जाएगा।
The endeavour after the initial trails is to progressively introduce bagasse based packaging as a viable alternative of non bio-degradable material being currently used on all Rajdhani, Shatabdi and Duranto trains managed by IRCTC in the coming months.
शुरुआती महीनों में आईआरसीटीसी द्वारा प्रबंधित सभी राजधानी, शताब्दी और दुरांटो ट्रेनों पर वर्तमान में गैर-जैव-अपरिवर्तनीय सामग्री के व्यवहार्य विकल्प के रूप में बैगेज आधारित पैकेजिंग को प्रगतिशील रूप से पेश करना है।
What is Bagasse,
Bagasse, गन्ने के रस निकालने के बाद रेशेदार अवशेष है, इसका उपयोग डिस्पोजेबल कटलरी और कंटेनर बनाने के लिए किया जा रहा है जिसमें भोजन परोसा जाएगा।
