India’s rank marginally improves in peace index

• India’s rank has marginally improved in “global peacefulness”, at a time when there is an overall decline of global peace
• वैश्विक शांति की कुल गिरावट के समय भारत की रैंक में "वैश्विक शांति" में मामूली सुधार हुआ है
•  This is mainly due to an escalation of violence in West Asia and North Africa
• यह मुख्य रूप से पश्चिम एशिया और उत्तरी अफ्रीका में हिंसा की वृद्धि के कारण है

Global Peace Index (GPI)वैश्विक शांति सूचकांक (जीपीआई)

• India’s rank has improved marginally in the Global Peace Index (GPI), released by Australia-based Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP)
• ऑस्ट्रेलियाई आधारित इंस्टीट्यूट फॉर इकोनॉमिक्स एंड पीस (आईईपी) द्वारा जारी वैश्विक शांति सूचकांक (जीपीआई) में भारत की रैंक में मामूली सुधार हुआ है।
• India’s GPI rank was 137 out of 163 countries in 2017, when the year 2016 was assessed
• वर्ष 2016 का आकलन करने पर 2017 में 163 देशों में से भारत का जीपीआई रैंक 137 था,
• In 2018, when the year 2017 is assessed, India’s rank moved up to 136
• 2018 में, जब वर्ष 2017 का आकलन किया गया, तो भारत का रैंक 136 हो गया
• Iceland continues to remain the most peaceful country in the world, a position it has held since 2008
